Connect Klaviyo
Updated October 17, 2026
In short. Connect Klaviyo with one sign-in and Olympus brings in your campaign and flow results, and the revenue Klaviyo credits to email, as far back as your Shopify sales go. From then on it keeps them current every night, next to your sales and ad spend. Access is read-only, and Olympus never reads your subscribers or customer profiles.
Before you start
- An Olympus with your Shopify store connected. Olympus reads email revenue against your sales, so Shopify comes first. No Olympus yet? Start one; it takes a few minutes.
- A Klaviyo login that can add integrations to your account. If Klaviyo says you don't have permission, ask your account's owner or an admin to connect it.
- In Olympus, the owner or an admin connects Klaviyo.
Connect from Olympus
- In your Olympus, open Setup (or Settings, Connections) and find Klaviyo.
- Click Connect Klaviyo.
- Sign in to Klaviyo if it asks, check the access Olympus is asking for, and click Allow. (Until Klaviyo finishes reviewing Olympus by Old Bones, it first shows an App has not been reviewed notice: click Continue.)
- You're back on Setup, with Klaviyo connected and its history importing.
Connect from Klaviyo's marketplace
- In Klaviyo, find Olympus by Old Bones in the integrations marketplace and click to install it.
- If Klaviyo shows App has not been reviewed, click Continue (it does until it finishes reviewing Olympus by Old Bones). Check the access Olympus is asking for and click Allow.
- Olympus asks Which Olympus is this for? Type the address you open your Olympus at (for example yourstore.olympus.oldbones.ai, or just yourstore) and click Continue.
- Sign in to your Olympus if it asks. On Setup, click Connect Klaviyo to finish. If your Olympus is already connected to Klaviyo, there's nothing to click: it checks the approval itself.
The approval waits ten minutes for you to finish. If it runs out, nothing is connected and Klaviyo's approval is withdrawn: connect from Olympus's Setup page instead. If you don't have an Olympus yet, choose Start one on that page; Olympus withdraws the approval, and you connect Klaviyo from Setup once your Olympus is ready.
Only someone who can sign in to that Olympus as its owner or an admin can finish, so typing another store's address connects nothing.
Already connected? If your Olympus already reads that Klaviyo account, finishing only renews the connection: nothing is removed and the history isn't imported again. If the approval is for a different Klaviyo account, Olympus shows both and asks before anything switches.
What Olympus reads, and never reads
Olympus asks Klaviyo for read-only access to your account's reporting:
| Access | What Olympus uses it for |
|---|---|
| Account | Your account's name, time zone and currency |
| Campaigns | Each campaign's name, subject line, audience and send time, and its results |
| Flows | Each flow's name, trigger and emails, and their results, so each flow can be shown with its job (welcome, abandoned cart and so on) |
| Metrics | Sends, deliveries, opens, clicks, unsubscribes, bounces, spam complaints, and the orders and revenue Klaviyo credits to email |
| Lists and segments | Their names and how many people are on them |
| Templates | A picture of each email, and the discount codes and images in a campaign |
Never: your profiles (so no subscriber or customer names, emails or phone numbers), and nothing that changes your account. Olympus can't send an email, edit a campaign or flow, or change a list, segment or setting. Everything it keeps is totals and counts, stored in your own Olympus. Our privacy policy has the details.
The first import
Right after you connect, Olympus brings in your Klaviyo history, newest first, as far back as your Shopify sales history goes, and stops where your Klaviyo account's activity does. The most recent three months arrive within minutes; the rest follows, and Setup shows how far it's got. If the import is interrupted, Setup offers to carry on where it stopped.
After that, Olympus reads yesterday's results every night and re-reads the last week, since a campaign keeps earning for days after it goes out.
What you'll see
- Email. What email earned, two ways, side by side: what Shopify credits to your emails (the same figure as Shopify's own marketing report), and what Klaviyo credits itself (the same figure as Klaviyo's dashboard). Klaviyo counts any order placed within days of someone opening or clicking an email, so its number is usually several times Shopify's. Both are true; they answer different questions.
- Flows and campaigns. Every flow with its job, sends, click rate and both revenues, with each flow's own page showing its emails and its paths. Every campaign with its subject, audience, click rate and revenue.
- Your AI. Both email numbers join your sales and ad spend in what your AI can read, so you can ask it how email is doing, or which flow earns the most.
Olympus counts days in your Shopify store's time zone. If your Klaviyo account is set to a different one, Setup says so, since Klaviyo's campaign and flow stats follow its own setting and can be a few hours off. Set Klaviyo's time zone to match your store's to line them up.
Settings and disconnecting
Olympus's Klaviyo settings live in your Olympus, under Settings, Connections: which Klaviyo account it reads, the history import, and the button to disconnect. From Klaviyo, the app's settings link opens them for you (oldbones.ai/connect/klaviyo/settings).
To disconnect, open Settings, Connections in your Olympus, find Klaviyo and click Disconnect. That ends Olympus's access at Klaviyo. You can also remove Olympus by Old Bones from your Klaviyo account's integrations. Either way collection stops, and the totals already collected stay in your Olympus until you delete it.
If something goes wrong
- "Klaviyo stopped accepting this connection." The access was removed in Klaviyo, or went unused for a long time. Click Connect Klaviyo again on Setup; nothing collected so far is lost.
- "This has expired" after installing from the marketplace. The approval waits ten minutes. Connect from your Olympus's Setup page instead.
- "We couldn't find an Olympus at that address." Check it against the address in your browser when you use Olympus. Can't find it? Sign in here and we'll email you a link to it.
- The import stopped. Setup shows a button to carry on; it picks up where it stopped.
- Anything else: email support@oldbones.ai.
Testing it (for Klaviyo's app review)
The test Olympus's address and sign-in are in the listing's testing instructions. Then:
- From Olympus: sign in to the test Olympus, open Setup, click Connect Klaviyo under Klaviyo, and allow access. You return to Setup with Klaviyo connected and its import running.
- From the marketplace: open the install link, allow access, enter the test Olympus's address on Which Olympus is this for?, sign in, and click Connect Klaviyo on Setup.
- Open Email to see the account's campaigns, flows and revenue. The first three months appear within minutes of connecting.
- From the app's settings link in Klaviyo, enter the test Olympus's address: its Settings, Connections opens. Click Disconnect under Klaviyo; the app's access ends in Klaviyo.
